
Welcome and thank you for visiting my personal website!
I am a higher education expert, working as a senior policy advisor internationalisation at the department of Academic Affairs at Maastricht University (UM) in the Netherlands. In this function I am responsible for initiating, implementing & monitoring Maastricht University’s internationalisation policies since 2017 and providing strategic advice for the Executive Board and the faculties.
In addition, as an independent expert, I also participate in various activities aimed at supporting the internationalisation of European and global higher education (e.g. the European Commission’s Technical Assistance Missions supporting higher education reform policies and as an evaluator for the Erasmus+ Key Action 171 programme).
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from University College Roosevelt (Netherlands), a master’s degree in International Relations & European Studies from the Central European University (Hungary) and a master’s degree in EU International Relations & Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe (Belgium). Currently I am pursuing a part-time PhD programme at Maastricht University, focusing on the EU’s response to crises. This under the supervision of prof. Christine Neuhold and prof. Sophie Vanhoonacker.
Prior to joining Maastricht University, I have worked in Croatia, Djibouti, Egypt and Germany in the field of research and policy-making for a variety of public and private institutions (Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Commission, Oxford Business Group and the Adecco Group).
I am proficient (working ability) in the following languages: Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish, Arabic, Croatian & in the process of improving my proficiency in Russian and Urdu.
I am married and have one son & two daughters.
